Recently I had the opportunity to photograph (and taste) some of the delicious offerings from the chefs at Smallman Galley in the Strip District. I shot these photos for a new online magazine launched by Good Food PGH and am very excited that my photos are not only featured, but one also made it as the cover photo. Smallman Galley is a chef incubator with rotating restaurant concepts, I photographed and tasted food from Ironborn Pizza, Colonia, Banhmilicious, and Brunoise.

I am in the early stages of planning a photo project that I have wanted to do for many years. As a pagan woman, a feminist, and an avid fantasy fan I have long wanted to do a fantasy themed shoot. Recently, I have been recruiting ladies that I know to join me in this endeavor. I want to photograph real people that I know and capture their innate goddess and/or fae aspects. Recently I gathered a group of these individuals for a model test and I was really happy with the photos. These are some of my favorite portraits from that shoot.

I’ve worked with Becky Thurner Braddock of Thurner Photography for almost five years now, and last month was the first time we had the opportunity to shoot a wedding together. Typically I act as the primary photographer when I shoot weddings, but it was a valuable experience to act as the second shooter for Becky who has taught me so much over the years. This is a selection of some of my images from Lia & Michael’s beautiful wedding day.

Over the weekend I photographed the wedding of some dear friends of mine. It is always an honor to shoot a friend’s wedding. As a wedding photographer I usually spend more time with the couple than any of their guests or family members do, so having a pre-existing relationship with the couple can really add an extra dimension to the images I capture.
This was an extra special day for me because it was the first time I have ever worked with my brother, who was in town visiting from Philadelphia. Tim was my second shooter for the day and he did a fantastic job, maybe someday we will have the chance to open our own brother/sister photography company and work together all the time. You can check out Tim’s videography and photography work – including some sweet timelapses – at his website here: Persistence of Vision.
Without further ado, here is a selection of images from Amanda and Zack’s wedding day!

Last month I went on a road trip for Good Food PGH out to Butler and the surrounding areas to explore some excellent dining options and photograph my findings. You can see these photos online in the new issue of the Good Food Pittsburgh Magazine and while I usually post a selection of all the photos I’ve shot, this time I’d like to focus in on my absolute favorite images from the day that I took at Butler Brew Works. Check out the Good Food PGH for more.

Recently I had the opportunity to photograph a ballet masterclass held at Bodiography Center for Movement in Squirrel Hill. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust sponsored the class where they brought in an instructor from the Dance Theatre of Harlem to teach the students. It was a fantastic event, and I really love the way the photos turned out. Here is a sampling!

Since October, I have been photographing Buzzwords events sponsored by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Buzzwords Pittsburgh is a great organization that holds free events where kids can come and read stories, learn new vocabulary, and do science experiments. Here is a sampling of some of the Buzzwords events and the amazing kids that I have photographed.
